3rd year high school students will take a career readiness assessment. WIN Ready to Work is the most recent assessment and students have the opportunity to earn a Career Readiness Certificate and Essential Soft Skills Certificate that can be used after high school and college when entering various career fields.
SC Days (virtual)
Throughout the Spring of 2024, the South Carolina Future Makers initiative is proud to offer a series of regional career exposure events for our state’s students. This new virtual series, SC Days, will offer students and educators the unique opportunity to join and engage with employers and in-demand local industries through a series of interactive sessions within the school day.

2024 Summer Transportation Institute (STI)
Provided by the South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) for rising 9th-12th graders.
Students participating will learn about career opportunities in the transportation industry (air, land, & sea).
Eligible students must live in one of eight neighborhoods in North Charleston (1-Camps, 2-Charleston Farms, 3-Ferndale, 4-Highland Terrace, 5-Joppa Way, 6-Liberty Park, 7-Russelldate, 8-Wando Woods). A list of street names in these neighborhoods is also attached.
The attachments include:
1) Double-sided flyer (English & Spanish, 2 pages)
2) Letter from Kit Scott, SCDOT Project Director & Application Form (English)
3) Letter from Kit Scott & Application Form (Spanish)
4) Street names in the EJ footprint
The 2024 STI program will be administered by Trident Technical College from July 8 to 26.
Lunch and snacks will be provided daily.
Applications are due on or before May 17 and may be delivered to the I-526 LCC Community Office (5605-A Rivers Avenue) or emailed to info@526lowcountrycorridor.com.

SCRUBS “U” features quarterly evening sessions concentrating on specific areas of health careers. Each program offers an exciting glimpse into a medical field.
Scrubs Health Summer Careers Camp - activity-filled week offering students who have an interest in health careers an opportunity to explore nursing & medical careers. Check the wesbite for the dates.
SCRUBS Mentoring Program - allows students on medical career tracks the opportunity to work along with staff at the bedside in a mentored role. The program is designed for pre-nursing, MD and PA career track students.
