Planning to pursue a degree in education?
Charleston County School district is hosting a Growing Our Own Future Teacher Signing Day on April 23.
Students and families are invited to this event that will give students the opportunity to sign a letter promising them a job in Charleston County School District after completion of college if they meet all requirements to be hired as a teacher. This letter is a promise from CCSD to the student.
Students, know that by signing you are not required to come work for CCSD after graduation, but if you would like to work in CCSD there will be a job for you.

Military Service Academy Day 2025
Eligibility Requirements:
An applicant must meet the following eligibility requirements as of July 1st of the year of admission to a Service Academy:
• Must be a United States citizen
• Must be a legal resident of South Carolina
• Must be at least 17 years of age, but cannot have passed their 23rd birthday
The US Merchant Marine Academy varies slightly, allowing individuals between the ages of 17 and 25 to apply.
• Must meet the medical, physical, and academic requirements of the Academy (contact the Academies directly for more information regarding their standards)
• Cannot be pregnant or have a legal obligation to support children or other dependents
The application process for a nomination from Senator Graham will open on July 1, 2025. High School Seniors for the Class of 2026 will need to complete the application for nomination by November 1, 2025. All information will be collected online via a portal that will open for students July 1, 2025.

Next Engineers: Greenville Engineering Camp
Summer 2025
The Next Engineers: Greenville Engineering Camp, sponsored by the GE Aerospace Foundation and provided by Clemson University PEER & WISE, is open to any current 8th or 9th grader who lives in South Carolina. Over the course of 1 week, campers will be immersed in the world of engineering, where they will develop their creativity and problem-solving skills, complete hands-on, team-based design challenges, have an opportunity to meet real-world engineers, and get a sense of college life. Camp is free of charge to all participants. Lunch will be provided. Transportation will be provided to students in Anderson, Greenville, Oconee, Pickens, or Spartanburg counties. Students residing outside of these counties will need to provide their own daily transportation to and from Clemson University.
Engineering Camp will be held at Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina. This camp is a day camp; it is not residential. Each session will run from 9 AM to 3 PM, Monday-Friday. This does not include transportation time. Pick-up and drop-off times will be communicated to campers before the start of each session. Students may participate in only one session. Sessions will take place the following weeks:
Monday, June 09 to Friday, June 13, 2025
Monday, June 23 to Friday, June 27, 2025

Mentoring Program - allows students on medical career tracks the opportunity to work along with staff at the bedside in a mentored role. The program is designed for pre-nursing, MD and PA career track students.
Volunteering - If you have availability to be of regular weekly support and are willing to learn to lend a hand to support staff and patients, you might consider a volunteer role.
Job Shadowing - Shadowing or observing, is watching and learning without any hands-on activity. When requesting a shadowing experience, you are asking a busy staff member to share their time with you. You are requesting the gift of an experience.
