What would a donation to the Friends of SOA Foundation help fund?

•Consumable supplies and permanent equipment for all arts major teachers

•Visiting artists in residence

•Purchase and repair of band and orchestra instruments

•Musical rights, music, lumber for sets, and material for costumes for the annual musicals and plays  the school produces

•A harpsichord and an organ for the piano program

•Contemporary novels and books of poetry for the creative writing classrooms

•Scholarships for students who cannot afford to go to the more expensive music competitions
 with their peers

•Arts major fees and field trip fees for students who cannot afford to pay them

•Funding for a program designed to bring SOA's upperclassmen into the community to coach and assist new student artists

•Equipment for an electronic lab for acoustic guitar students

•Costs involved with redesigning the media center to meet the needs of millennial learners –more electronic books, more periodical and journal data bases, and more interactive opportunities

•Additional positions on campus for a music department secretary, mentor/internship coordinator, volunteer coordinator, and publicity/public relations coordinator

•Costs involved in teachers attending professional development conferences in their content specialties

•An obstacle course/fitness course for physical education classes

•Application fees for students who cannot afford to apply at multiple colleges

•Funding for incentives and rewards for students and teachers who meet goals and/or stretch themselves to accomplish great things

•Funding for special events like Open House, Information Nights, Multicultural Fair, College Fair, Spring Festival, Teacher Appreciation gifts and meals

•Signage for directions and labels throughout the campus
